As an AmeriHealth Caritas New Hampshire member, you have access to transportation benefits. These benefits include emergency transportation and non-emergency transportation needs.

AmeriHealth Caritas New Hampshire can help you get to your covered health care visits and other medically necessary services. We can also help you get to certain non-medical destinations through our Social Trips benefit. Read below to learn how to use our Family and Friends Program to be reimbursed per mile.

For authorized non-emergency transportation, you must follow plan rules to get reimbursement or transportation services


 
 

To request non-emergency transportation, call: 1‑833‑301‑2264 at least two business days in advance.
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Thursday and Friday: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.

If you are unable to keep an appointment, call the CTS transportation line as soon as possible to cancel or reschedule the ride.

 
 

Medically Necessary trips:

  • Visits to your doctor or other provider
  • Trips to the pharmacy for prescriptions
  • Rides home after being discharged from the hospital or ER

Social Trips (non-medical):

  • Locations where you can spend your CARE Card dollars
  • Laundromats
  • GED/HiSET exam and prep classes
  • Grocery store
  • Group support meetings
  • Pharmacy, for items other than prescriptions
  • State-covered respite services
  • Wellness and Opportunity Center events
  • Job-related interviews and trainings

Family and Friends Mileage Reimbursement

Use the Family and Friends Mileage Reimbursement Program*

  • If you have a car, or when a friend or family member with a car can drive you to your destination.
    • Driver of vehicle must have a valid driver’s license. 
    • You can be paid back $0.70/mile, by check or direct deposit.
